This Privacy Policy describes how TaleSeeds (“Service”) is operated and managed by Jacob Wikingellis (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), and how information is collected, used, processed, stored, and disclosed in connection with the Service.

We are committed to protecting children’s privacy through privacy-by-design and data minimization. Children’s data is treated as highly sensitive information.

1. Scope and Applicability

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Service, including parents or legal guardians who use the Service on behalf of a child.

The Service is intended to be accessed and controlled by parents or legal guardians. Children are not permitted to independently modify settings or submit information without parental involvement.

The Service does not provide social networking features, public posting functionality, sharing features, or user-to-user communication.

2. Definitions

“Personal Information” means information that identifies or could reasonably be linked to an individual.

“Child” means an individual under the age defined by applicable law, including under 13 (COPPA) and under GDPR-K thresholds.

“User-Generated Content” includes story prompts, optional first names, and optional photographs provided by a parent.

“Processing” means any operation performed on information, including transmission or deletion.

3. Information We Collect

We follow strict data minimization and collect only what is necessary.

3.1 Parent or Guardian Information

The Service does not require account registration.

We do not collect usernames, passwords, or persistent identifiers.

We may collect:

• Email address (if contacting support)

• Support communications

• Payment information (handled by a third-party payment provider)

3.2 Child Information

We do not collect independent personal information about children such as:

• Full name, address, phone number, or email

• Location data

• Identifiers or tracking data

• Voice recordings or biometric data

The only optional information that may relate to a child:

• First name (optional, parent-provided)

• Photograph (optional, parent-provided)

The app displays a notice advising against uploading sensitive images.

All uploaded images are scanned for inappropriate content before processing.

We do not record audio or collect voice data.

3.3 User-Generated Content

Parents may submit:

• Story prompts

• Creative inputs

• Optional images

All text inputs are filtered for safety before processing.

All generated stories, images, and audio are stored locally on the user’s device.

3.4 Technical Information

We collect minimal technical data:

• Device type

• Performance data

• Error logs

We do not use analytics, tracking tools, or hidden data collection.

4. Purpose of Processing

We use data only to:

• Provide the Service

• Generate stories

• Create audio narration

• Maintain functionality

• Process payments

• Ensure safety and moderation

• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use data for advertising or profiling.

4.1 AI Safety and Moderation

We use structured AI with safeguards including:

• Input filtering

• Image safety scanning

• Content restrictions

• Output moderation

The app does not allow open-ended AI interaction.

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 No Sale or Advertising

We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.

No behavioral tracking is used.

5.2 AI Story Generation

Content may be sent to AI providers (e.g., OpenAI) solely to generate stories.

No personal identifiers are included.

We send only the minimum necessary data.

We do not store generated stories on our servers.

5.3 Text-to-Speech (Microsoft Azure)

Story text is sent to Microsoft Azure Speech to generate audio.

Only story text is transmitted.

No personal or identifying data is included.

No audio recordings are collected.

5.4 Image Processing and Local Storage

Images:

• Are scanned for safety

• May be briefly processed externally

• Are stored only on the device

We do not store images on our servers.

All content can be deleted by the parent at any time.

6. Data Retention

We do not maintain user accounts or cloud storage.

Stories, images, and audio:

• Are stored locally on the device only

• Are not stored on Company servers

Users can delete all content at any time.

Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.

We do not retain copies after processing.

7. Parental Controls

Parents can:

• Delete stories and images

• Control personalization

• Request support or deletion assistance

Parental settings are protected by a child-resistant gate.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards.

The app does not:

• Record audio

• Enable chat

• Allow open communication

9. International Transfers

Where required, safeguards are applied for cross-border processing.

10. Legal Compliance

We comply with:

• COPPA

• GDPR / GDPR-K

• U.S. privacy laws

• App Store child safety requirements

11. No Accounts or Tracking

We do not create user accounts or track users across sessions.

We do not build behavioral profiles.
